During an action, the Border Police blocked 16 vessels from Ksamil to Velipoja. The stranded vehicles are 12 jet skis, 2 speedboats and 2 dinghies.

Police notification: 

Department of the Border Police/Maximum commitment of the services of the Border Police and those of the Maritime Police Unit, for the safety of vacationers.

Along the entire coastline, lake and river areas, the Maritime Police Unit and the Border Police continue to check the vessels, with the sole aim of preventing incidents with consequences for the life and health of vacationers.

From Ksamil to Velipoja, the Border Police has blocked 16 vessels.

Stranded vehicles: 12 jet skis, 2 speedboats and 2 dinghies.

7 vessels were blocked from Ksamil to Vlorë, 7 vessels were blocked from Durrës to Shengjin and 2 vessels were blocked in Velipoja.

6 of the blocked vessels were found by the services of the Border Police and those of the Maritime Police Unit, sailing within the security perimeter, a violation which endangered the lives of vacationers. The drivers of these vehicles were each punished with an administrative measure of 100,000 ALL.

The drivers of 10 other vessels, in addition to the measure of blocking the means, were each punished with administrative measures of 10,000 - 20,000 ALL, for lack of documentation.

The Border Police appeals to all boat users to continue to follow the rules for the use of boats and to respect the designated areas for sailing with these boats, in order for them and other vacationers to be safe and calm.

It also invites citizens to report any violation of the security perimeter and irregular use of watercraft to the toll-free number 112, guaranteeing a quick response, based on the law./CNA
