The General Director of the State Police, Muhamet Rrumbullaku, has held a meeting with the management structures of 12 local directorates in the districts. 

It is learned that Rrumbullaku has asked for the improvement of the standard of the police service, especially at the height of the tourist season.

He emphasized that the services on the ground should be strengthened and improved to cope with the increased number of tourists, to increase the quality of service to them, as well as to prevent and detect criminal events.

Also, the chief police asked the local police leaders to take measures to prevent and combat criminality, with a special focus on the fight against the cultivation of narcotic plants and bringing wanted persons to justice.

This meeting comes after the order of the Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, to cancel the summer holidays for the State Police. 

The decision was taken in the context of the smooth running and ensuring the conditions of the tourist season./CNA
