The head of the IMT is suspended from duty

The Inspectorate of Territorial Protection and law enforcement structures are at the center of a new investigation in the capital. Rigers Sheqeri, head of the IMT in Tirana, has been suspended from duty by a decision of the Tirana Court.

The decision comes within the framework of an ongoing investigation into a suspected scheme of abuse of building permits and construction activities in Tirana.

Authorities are working to fully unravel the suspected mechanism and identify those responsible.

Up to this stage of the investigation, there has not yet been a public reaction from Sheqeri regarding the court's decision, while further details on the concrete nature of the charges are also lacking.

Investigations are expected to continue in the coming days, while new developments are expected from the competent authorities./ CNA
