Balluk's successor/ Who is the new Minister of Infrastructure and Energy?

Enea Karakaçi will be the new Minister of Infrastructure and Energy. Karakaçi succeeds Belinda Balluku in this position.

Who is Enea Karakaçi?

He previously held the position of Director of OSHEE, and has extensive experience in the energy sector. Karakaçi was a Lawyer at the Energy Regulatory Authority (ERE) until 2012. In 2013, he was transferred from ERE to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy.

Initially, he was a specialist in the ministry and later was appointed Director General of Energy and Industry Policies and Development at the Ministry of Energy.

In this position, he was responsible for developing policies and strategies for energy in general, renewable energy, oil and gas, minerals and energy efficiency in Albania. He was also a member of the Supervisory Council of OSHEE. 

We recall that today, Rama has changed half of his cabinet, making changes in several ministries.  

CNA on February 14, 2026, warned of the dismissal of the government by Prime Minister Edi Rama. CNA said that there would be changes in the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, in the Ministry of Justice. /CNA
