Thousands of citizens have been protesting against the government for 13 days.
Gathered on the "Martyrs of the Nation" Boulevard and marching on the main streets, the protesters seem not to have forgotten the exploits of the arrested mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.
This comes as protesters have displayed various banners against Veliaj, which are full of notes of humor and irony.
We recall that Erion Veliaj has been in Durrës prison cells for more than 15 months, since his arrest on February 10, 2025.
He faces 13 charges for 5 serious criminal offenses, including corruption, money laundering, concealment of assets, and bringing or keeping illegal items in a cell. /CNA
