The opening ceremony of one of the most important activities for students was held at Fan Noli University in the city of Korça. A Balkan Mathematics Olympiad that brought together 19 universities, 5 of which are from Albania and the rest from countries such as Romania, Greece, Bulgaria, as well as Turkmenistan . Over four days, starting tomorrow, more than 100 students will test their knowledge in the subject of mathematics, and the competition is expected to be strong.

Edona Kalludra is one of the students selected from the third year of the mathematics - computer science branch, who will represent all students of this year along with five other students selected from other years.

She says that this is her first time participating in such an important Olympics, saying that it is an honor for her to have been selected to participate.

"Yes, it is my first time participating in a student Olympiad, above all a mathematical and Balkan Olympiad. For me it is a special honor, I thank those who have selected me to represent the university and the year of study. I am in the mathematics - informatics branch, third year, so it is an honor for me."

Edona indicates that the competition is extremely high while providing details regarding the participants in this competition.

" The competition is definitely there, I don't know the exact number of students, but I know they are from the Balkans and beyond. We also have students from Turkmenistan, which is not part of the Balkans and has many universities. There are six students from our university, I really hope that all six of us will have results, but the competition is definitely high."

The help of the teachers in preparing the six students of the University of Korça has been extremely important for them, as according to Edona, they have prepared them for what awaits them in this Olympiad. Among other things, Edona hopes that she will achieve good results in this competition .

" Our professors have been ready for us, they have sent us where to focus more and also orientation theses so that we have more or less an idea of ??what awaits us in the Olympics since we are all doing it for the first time. I am used to every time I enter a competition, not to come out defeated, from the sport I am involved in, so I definitely expect the best possible. The competition will be very high but I enter to do my best, to win."

The rector of Fan Noli University of Korça, Lorenc Ekonomi, as a man who studied mathematics and when he was a student won the national olympiad, has shown that this activity is an extraordinary opportunity to challenge and develop students' skills. Not only to show knowledge in this subject, but according to the rector, it is an opportunity to strengthen character by showing dedication, perseverance and the ability to work under pressure.
