The Falcon 9 rocket

The Ministry of Defense has given details about the launch into space of the Falcon 9 rocket with the two satellites "Albania 1" and "Albania 2".

The ministry informs that specifically the rocket was launched at 14:56.

The two satellites, worth 6 million dollars, will be used for a period of 3 years, for the monitoring of Albania, the development of technical and professional capacities for the use of the satellite service, the processing of Geospatial Information (GIS) as well as the provision of imaging products and its other components.

“Raketa Falcon 9, misioni i përbashkët i SpaceX Transporter 6, e cila transporton edhe Satelitët “Albania 1” dhe “Albania 2” u lëshua në hapësirë nga stacioni në Cape Canaveral, Florida, sot në orën 9:56 me orën lokale, 14:56 me orën në Tiranë.

Dy satelitët lëshohen në kuadër të kontratës se shërbimit Satelitor në fushën e mbrojtjes dhe sigurisë për monitorimin me teknologji të avancuar të territorit të Republikës së Shqipërisë ndërmjet Agjencisë Kombëtare të Mbrojtjes Civile dhe Operatorit “Satellogic USA Inc., me vlerë 6 milion dollarë.

Based on the contract, the two satellites will be used for a period of 3 years, for the monitoring of the territory of the Republic of Albania, the development of the technical and professional capacities of the Republic of Albania for the use of the satellite service, the processing of Geospatial Information (GIS) and the provision of imaging products and other components thereof.

This service will enable the beneficiary institutions to receive satellite images, which provide a comprehensive and periodic coverage of the earth's surface, enabling multiple uses and a wealth of information and geoinformation for decision makers and planners in both the public and private sectors, for policy and effective decision-making", announces the Ministry of Defense./ BA - CNA.al
