The Minister of Infrastructure and at the same time the Deputy Prime Minister, Belinda Balluku, has inspected the works at the construction site of the Elbasan-Qafë Thane axis, part of Corridor VIII.

Balluku has told the citizens that this road axis will be similar to the Fier-Vlora Bypass and the project will not only include the construction of the highway, but also the improvement of the river Shkumbin.

The minister also emphasized that as a project of Corridor eight, in Elbasan, work will also be done to improve and solve the traffic problem.

"There are many questions about this road. This is a category B road. It is similar to the Fier bypass and the Fier-Vlora bypass, a 2-lane road split in the middle. It is a real highway similar to the Fier bypass. Work is also underway to repair the dam of the Shkumbin river. This road is a segment of the eighth corridor for which we have a big plan. It is very important as it is a great effort of ours together with North Macedonia and with the support of Bulgaria. We will build the first segment of this corridor. The charge is tremendous. The traffic in the city of Elbasan is a problem that we intend to solve through this project," she said. / CNA.al
