The Mayor of Korça, Sotiraq Filo, announced today the launch of an important project for the city.

Through a post on social networks, Filo announces that the complete reconstruction and revitalization of the Children's Library has begun, donated to the city by philanthropist Thoma Turtulli, one of the most important buildings in Korça in terms of historical memory and architectural values ??that it carries as a unique object and realized with great love and care by the masters of the time.

Filo emphasizes that this project for its restoration and revitalization, the first at this level of intervention since the construction of the building, was carried out by the Municipality of Korça with the advice of restoration specialists and was approved according to the cultural heritage law by the National Council of Cultural Heritage.

According to Filo, the restoration aims to highlight the values ??degraded over the years, as well as to create a comfortable environment according to the norms without changing the current function, to serve, according to the will of the donor Thoma Turtulli, children, and to enlighten generations, by combining traditional book reading with elements of technology and innovation.

The facility is in the stage of preparing the site for the start of construction works, and work has begun on the restoration of some of the building's identity elements, such as the entrance gate.

Filo writes that after the project is completed, over 600 children up to 15 years old, attending technology and innovation courses, along with hundreds of their peers, attending the book, will have a comfortable and dignified environment and that Thoma Turtulli's legacy, for a youth away from cafes and close to knowledge, will continue to be fulfilled in eternity. /CNA
