On the eve of the local elections, the mayor Erion Veliaj has opened the competition for the construction of the new National Theater building.

The theater will be built according to the project of Bjarke Ingles, which was financed by the company FUSHA, which was initially going to build the theater with a concession, but then withdrew.

The fund for the initial phase of the works is 1.8 billion ALL, or 18 million euros.

According to the announcement of the public tender, the value of the limit fund for the first phase of works for the construction of the National Theater is 1 billion and 854 million new lek, or approximately 18 million euros.

Tenderi për ndërtimin e godinës së Teatrit Kombëtar do të qëndrojë i hapur deri në në datën 3 nëntor, ku do të priten ofertat dhe më pas do të bëhet vlerësimi i tyre.

Sipas dokumenteve të njoftimit të tenderit, bashkia e Tiranës do të kërkojë nga kompania fituese që të ndërtojë godinën e re të Teatrit Kombëtar brenda një afati prej 27 muajsh.

Financimi i ndërtimit të godinës së Teatrit Kombëtar do të bëhet nga buxheti i shtetit.

Në idenë fillestare, bashkia kishte negociuar paraprakisht ndërtimin e Teatrit Kombëtar me koncension nga kompania Fusha Shpk, e cila gjithashtu ka financuar dhe i ka dhuruar projektin e teatrit bashkisë së Tiranës, shkruan Syri tv.

Si shpërblim, kompania private do të lejohej të ndërtonte kulla shumë katëshe përbri teatrit kombëtar. Por pas shembjes së godinës monumentale të teatrit kombëtar, gjërat ndryshuan.

The municipality of Tirana announced that the company has withdrawn from the concession, claiming that it did not have the capacity to build the new national theater as requested by the artists.
