A series of changes are being carried out by the Albanian government in the ranks of diplomacy.

The government has started the replacement of several ambassadors, whose mandate has ended or are about to retire.

Ilir Gjoni is one of the diplomats expected to be involved in these movements. Gjoni, who is currently ambassador to Switzerland, has been proposed to be appointed ambassador to NATO after the retirement of ambassador Visho Ajazi Lika.

Meanwhile, analyst Mustafa Nano has been proposed for the position of Swiss ambassador. The latter was part of the diplomatic corps before.

Another move is that of Ridi Kurtez, the ambassador to Montenegro, who is expected to represent Albania as a diplomat in the United Arab Emirates. The post of ambassador to the United Arab Emirates is vacant, after the departure of Ermal Dredha, who was elected mayor of Vlora on May 14.

Even the ambassador of Albania in the Netherlands, Adia Sakiqi, has been proposed to be sent to an EU country, according to "Top Channel".

Former MP Fate Velaj is expected to be sent to Austria, while in Geneva the name of the former deputy speaker of the Assembly, Vasilika Hysit, is being discussed as the one selected to head the Permanent Mission of Albania to the United Nations Office.
