Father Arthur's passing away is a great loss not only for his family but also for the Albanian Orthodox Archdiocese in America and the Albanian community in the USA.

The Metropolis of the Signs of Korça has expressed its sincere condolences to the family of Father Arthur Liolin.

Artur Evans Liolin was born on June 19, 1943 in New York in a family of Korcar origin from Boboshtica.

Father Arthur was chancellor of the Albanian Orthodox Church in the USA.

In addition to religious activity, there is also a great humanitarian and diplomatic activity for the benefit of Albania, as well as many studies on: "Albania - European enigma", "Fan Noli and Albanian consciousness", "Albanian society - reformation and finding", etc.

Also, he conducted studies at the "Albert Schweitzer" Institute in Switzerland in the program: "Crisis in Western Civilization," which includes a series of economic, cultural, historical and philosophical researches.

Father Arturi has written many articles about the Albanian issue in the newspaper "Dielli", and further in various magazines such as "Liria", Illyria", "Koha Jonë" etc.

In 1970, he was ordained a priest in Boston, where he served the Albanian-American people.

He organized the Fan Noli Library near St. George's Cathedral in Boston.

In 1975 he was appointed Chancellor of the Albanian Orthodox Bishopric of America.

In 1991 Father Arturi made the most famous trip of his life, where he preached in 22 cities of Albania.

He traveled to Albania two more times to clarify the position of the American colony in the matter of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church and the delicate relations with the neighboring peoples./ CNA
