On April 5, the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Balluku announced that two ships will be docked at the Triport of Vlora for the production of electricity, thus starting the first phase of the Vlora Thermal Power Plant and guaranteeing energy for two years.

One of the ships for the production of electricity arrived this morning.

The two leased vessels are expected to meet 15% of the country's energy demand.

The agreement for the ships was signed with the support of the USA with a 2-year term.

"With the support of the American ambassador and the company that works for the Vlora thermal power plant, we have reached an agreement to rent and anchor in Triport two electricity producing ships, which will produce energy until the TEC is installed In work.

They are floating power plants, we are launching the first phase of the Vlora TPP, which will guarantee us energy independence that will be produced by those ships, limited but also michelated. It will give us energy independence throughout the summer. It gives breathing space to the energy sector, the details in the coming days", declared Balluku in April of this year./CNA.al
