During a statement with journalists, the head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, was asked about the connections with the investigations for the head of the Municipality of Tirana, Erion Veliaj. 

While being asked by journalists whether SPAK has decided a security measure for Erion Veliaj, Dumani replied that "the reaction is what we have done and officially, you have received our reaction". 

On June 26, SPAK issued an announcement following news in some media about a large police operation, or reports in various media that there were arrests related to the incinerator affair.

The fact is that SPAK denies that there was an operation on the night of June 25 regarding the incinerator affair.

"Let me inform you about the news published yesterday in some of the media: SPAK is following a series of investigations to fight corruption and protect the public. There has been no overnight operation and we kindly ask you to avoid speculation that may harm our work. As soon as we have announcements to share with the media, you will no doubt be informed," announced SPAK./ CNA
