Luxury cars, in the sieve / Towards the rise of the structure that will control the wealth of millionaires

The government will set up a system similar to "Operation Forca e Lagi" to fight informality and money laundering.

The wealth investigation system will be established within the year and will be implemented by the General Directorate of Taxes and the Directorate of Road Transport.

This system will control immovable and movable assets. Any person who has a luxury car will have to justify the source of the money.

To prove that the money was not obtained from illegal activities, the value of the car will be compared with the personal income of its owner.

Other movable monetary and immovable assets in the properties will also be checked.

In order to make control possible, it is planned to set up within 2026 the Register of Taxpayers' Assets.

Initially, the richest will be listed in the register and then it will be expanded with other categories./ CNA
