Dritan Goxhaj is released/Appeal rejects extradition to The Hague

The Court of Appeal has rejected the extradition to The Hague of the former KLA fighter, Dritan Goxhaj, in the session held this morning.

The appeal has decided to release Goxhajn from prison, thus overturning the decision of the First Instance.

We recall that the former soldier of the KLA, Dritan Goxhaj, was arrested on July 31 by the Albanian authorities in Tirana, on behalf of the Special Court of Kosovo, which had declared him wanted.

The Special Court of Kosovo accuses Goxhaj of making public the names of witnesses in several cases opened earlier by the Special Prosecutor's Office of Kosovo.

His arrest was aimed at extradition to the Specialized Chambers./ CNA
