"Constitution" accepts the lawsuit for the law of the Academy of
Deputy Ina Zhupa at the Constitutional Court

The Constitutional Court has accepted the DP's lawsuit for the review of the law on the Academy of Sciences.

The hearing will take place by July 14, 2024.

The deputy of the DP, Ina Zhupa, has stated that this law was approved in complete violation of the parliamentary procedures, trampling on the legislative power and violating the Constitution.

"The lawsuit by the Constitutional Court for the review of the unconstitutional law for the Academy of Sciences is accepted.

The court will hold public plenary sessions, as the parties are invited to send their submissions by July 14, 2024.

A law passed in complete violation of parliamentary procedures, trampling on the legislative power and violating the country's constitution, which considers as null and void those decisions of the assembly that were taken without following the procedure.

Also, the law does not respect academics because it does not guarantee their equality before the law. Either all academics over 75 can be elected or none. Either all academics over 75 become emeritus or none. There cannot be legal determinations "all but one" precisely for the president for whom the law is tailor-made", writes Zhupa./ CNA
