Today it is expected that the Supreme Court will give the decision on the "January 21" file, the protest where 4 people were killed, Aleks Nika, Ziver Veizi, Hekuran Deda and Faik Myrtaj.

"The review of the case with act no. 70022-00558-00-2023, with registration date 13.09.2023, in a court session with the presence of the parties on March 12, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. The secretariat of the Supreme Court is ordered to notify the parties participating in the trial", the announcement said.

In this session, it is expected that a final decision will be made on who will investigate this "hot" file, the SPAK or the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana.

Regarding January 21, the Strasbourg Court gave the opinion that it was a 'state crime'. The "Strasbourg" decision of November 14, 2023, called for the punishment of those responsible for state crimes.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja, and Prime Minister Edi Rama have requested that the investigations into this file be started as soon as possible and that those responsible be brought to justice./ CNA
