The head of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, in a statement to the media, was asked by journalists when the Democratic Party will select the candidates for mayor.

Berisha stated that the opposition does not nominate candidates like Rama, they do not choose drugs or crime, but they choose the citizens.

“Opozita nuk i emëron siç i emëron Edi Rama, por do ti zgjedhë nga qytetarët. Ne miratuam në një mbledhje dy ditë më parë procedurën e përzgjedhjes së kandidateve nëpërmjet primareve, qytetarëve. Shënuam një hap jashtëzakonisht të madh përpara, duke njohur të drejtën e simpatizantëve për të votuar për kandidatin që duan. Pra sjellim në këto zgjedhje një risi thelbësore në interesin më të mirë të qytetarëve dhe demokracisë.

We are not assigned drugs, nor the party state, nor crime. Citizens appoint us candidates. We are continuing the consultations with the allies, to determine the exit forms in these 2-3 days. There are thoughts to come up with common candidates and I support this thought. But we are open with our allies to find the most suitable forms of a successful competition" , said Berisha./ CNA.al
