Qemal Lame, the President of the General Investigation of Albania 1982-1992, has spoken about the punishments of citizens during communism.

In the show "Opinion", Lame recalled some of the cases when he was asked to arrest citizens even without having evidence against them. One of these cases is the grandfather of Prime Minister Edi Rama, the father of Kristaq Rama.

Lame says that he was 82 years old and that his arrest was requested because he spoke badly of the party and that he did not agree with the reforms that the communist party was carrying out.

“Ishte 82-vjeç, unë nuk e dija se ishte babai i Kristaq Ramës, ndërsa Edi sapo kishte mbaruar si student. Ai do arrestohej për agjitacion dhe propagandë. Më kanë sjellë materialet denoncuese drejtori i Sigurimit të Shtetit dhe më tha se ai është person i rrezikshëm dhe duhet arrestuar. Merresh, ka folur kundër partisë, nuk është dakord me vijnë e partisë nuk është dakord me reformat që po bëhen dhe s enuk kishte asnjë aktivitet nga ato që lexova unë kuptova që ishin bashkëpunëtorët e sigurimit që e kishin marrë dhe më pas dilin si dëshmitarë. Thash unë si të arrestohet një 82 vjeçar, shikoni nëse ka ndonjë veprimtari dhe se në opinionin publik nuk bën. Ndërkohë sa isha kthyer nga Tropoja, atje ishte dënuar një arsimtare për agjitacion dhe propagandë Irkuja Aliaj në një fshat të Tropojës dhe kisha vajtur me porosi nga Enveri. I thash lëreni këtë, por pas dy muajsh më vjen për të dytën herë për arrestimin dhe thonin se ka qenë shofer i Zogut,”-tha Lame.
