Lawyer Jozefina Traboini has given a reaction to CNA regarding the occupation of her property in the city of Shkodra. Traboini stated that the property in Shkodra belonging to her grandfather, Ndrek Tom Kurbini, has been occupied by several people, one of them Pal Shkambi. Lawyer Traboini said that Pal Shkambi is the cousin of the author of the judge's murder, a fact also confirmed by CNA.

Traboini stated that she possesses all the documents that show that an area of ??her family, of 30 thousand square meters, located in the city of Shkodra from the former Metalikja to the former NSHN, has been occupied by the Shkambi family, who according to her came to Shkodra from Dukagjini.

Traboini told CNA that those lands were taken by the communist dictatorship and then occupied by other people. She further stated that she does not seek war with anyone, simply to take what is rightfully hers, the property. Property for which she says 3 generations have died.
The lawyer stated that the state has given them an amount of 120 million lek as compensation, but it has not been accepted by any member of her family as it has been considered an insignificant amount.

"I don't know Gjon Shkambi, this guy who killed the judge, at all. Those houses that are there have nothing to do with my property. My property, my grandfather was one of the most famous merchants in Shkodra. His name was Ndrekë Tom Kurbini, I have documents from the transcription note and all the way to the recognition of the return-compensation of the properties. So, he is one of the former owners. In fact, he was one of the big owners of Shkodra. Pal Shkambi, as far as I've been told, is the son of Gjon and Gjovalin Shkambi's uncle. Pal Shkambi is one of the occupiers of my mother's property. My mother's property, which is located from the former old Metallica to the former old Nënshehnia, is 30 dunyms of land, with maps, with general plans, with a plan, with a transcription note, with ownership certificates, with everything. The dictatorship took all the land. I don't want to fight with Pal either. Shkambi, not even with the government. I want my mother's right to come out, 3 generations have lost their lives for that property. Those lands have been completely occupied and we have not received them. The state has given us a price of 120 million lek for compensation. No one has accepted it. Only one factory produces that much per day. 10 factories have been built on our land , "said lawyer Jozefina Traboini for CNA.


Court of Appeals Judge Astrit Kalaja was shot in the courtroom on Monday by Elvis Shkambi, following a ruling he gave on a property dispute in Shkodra. The property, which the Shkambi family claimed to have purchased from the state, was being evicted from the homes of 31 families currently living in the so-called “Former Construction Reserve School.”

Meanwhile, in an interview given to CNA, lawyer Jozefina Traboini draws attention to the fact that the history of the seizure of land in Shkodra by the Shkambi family is not the only one and that the state must protect citizens, as in her family alone, three generations had died waiting for the return of land unjustly seized by the communist regime of the time./CNA
