"I have left-wing convictions"/ Teacher: The government should tighten

Aleko Miho, lecturer at the Faculty of Sciences, Biology department, was a participant in today's protest being held by lecturers at the University Corps.

He states that there should be greater support for public education. In his speech, he states that he is aware of the critical situation in the country, but on the other hand, he states that the demands of the lecturers are legitimate.

"The dignity of academics has been violated and intellectualism has faded in the country. We have found legal ways to round up the income, someone as an external lecturer, consultant or business. Our request may seem excessive in a country that has a lot of poverty. Many of us join in the common mission. Statesmen must find the strength to hear a different voice without labels. This is democracy.
My family and I lead a modest life and this is how we have raised our children. I feel proud of what I have done these years. We had the opportunity to leave, but my belief is that public education allows us to better carry out our mission here. The government has to squeeze somewhere else to support public education. I myself have left-wing beliefs," he said. /CNA.al
