Staging or kidnapping?/ The mystery of Ervis Martinaj's fate

August 9, is the day when Ervis Martinaj's family members lost contact with their relative. Since 20:00 of that day, they have not contacted Martinaj, through a relative of theirs who is outside Albania.

A day later, the family members reported the disappearance to the Kurbin police station and are afraid that something bad may have happened to him, which raises suspicions that he may have been killed.

Kurbin's prosecutor's office registered the case only for the charge of kidnapping.

After the denunciation and after receiving the report from the prosecution, there are two official tracks where the investigation is being followed. The first is that of staging the disappearance and the second, kidnapping without consequences.

The prosecution is also focused on the cities where Ervis Martinaj may have disappeared, where he was seen, or where there was information that he was.

The first city where it is suspected that Ervis Martinaj may have disappeared is Durrës, due to a video that has been circulating since August 6, where Martinaj was seen in a hotel, in the company of a girl and the police officer, Jeton Lami.

For the city of Vlora, there is some operational information that has reached the State Police and the Kurbin Police.

The main evidence that the prosecution managed to secure are several videos where Ervis Martinaj moved, the days before he disappeared. Another piece of evidence that the prosecution is pursuing is the arrested policeman, Jeton Lami, who, if he testifies, can provide a great help in clarifying the fate of Ervis Martinaj./euronews
