THE NON-EXISTENT INCINERATOR OF TIRANA

In almost 7 years, CNA has been one of the main media, which has investigated and thoroughly analyzed the affair that has so far cost about 200 million euros for the incinerators, where in Elbasan it is out of order, in Fier it has not been completed and in Tirana of Erion Veliaj does not exist.

A concession contract signed in 2017 for Tirana. There are not a few, but tens of millions of euros taken from the non-existent incinerator.

There are 110 million euros in revenue, the company claims to have invested 30 million euros, but the mountain of garbage is pouring into Sharre.

The payments of the Tirana incinerator should not be seen only at the first payer, because the connections are even deeper, there is a transfer that is taken somewhere as subcontracting works, which do not perform any work and then the money is channeled to other people.

But how much money will be paid next year?

The project of construction of the landfill, incinerator and rehabilitation of the existing landfills in Tirana and the production of electricity will be financed next year with about 12.7 billion lek about 13 million euros, even though the project on the ground has not yet started to develop.

For the first time, the money will go to the Agency for the Administration of Seized and Confiscated Assets. By order of SPAK, which continues the investigations for the so-called affair of the century, the incinerator has been seized, even though regular payments are being made to it.

Bills are paid to the state administrator for the construction of the incinerator, whose works have not started.

Although there are laws that prevent the release of funds if there are no works invoices, the payments continue, producing a great material damage to Albanian taxpayers./ CNA
