"They have sold their souls to the devil, they are tearing Albania

The massive protest that is taking place today for the tenth consecutive day against the government has been joined by well-known names in the arts. Among them are actors Gent Bejko and Mehdi Malkaj.

Speaking to the citizens, Bejko stated in harsh tones that the political regime in Albania has not changed, as the same politicians continue to be active in the country's political scene.

Bejko accused the country's politicians of wanting to create a spirit of division among the people.

"We thought the regime changed in 1990, but the regime hasn't changed, they're the same. They want to divide us, they want to put all kinds of garbage here, but we don't divide, we don't get dirty. I fled Albania because I didn't want to sell my soul to the devil. These people have sold their soul to the devil, from Berisha, to this beast," said Bejko.

For his part, Malkaj said that local politicians have attempted to divide the country.

He said that citizens have a duty to defend Albania.

"They have tried to tear Albania apart, they have torn it to pieces. It is our duty to defend our Albania. I appeal to Dardania, Kosovo, because they too have shed a lot of blood to raise the flag in Vlora," said Malkaj./CNA
