Former Minister: Veliaj's structures are behind the protest

Former minister and lawyer Ylli Manjani has reacted to the recent protests being held in front of the Prime Minister's Office, against the government, as well as the insults he has received on social media, after he stated that the protests are political.

Manjani explained that the insults were not directed at the protesters, but at the insulters, who, according to him, have made it appropriate for anyone who expresses their opinion to respond with insults.

"Because of this statement I made on social media, I personally received a flood of insults. Just because I said out loud that the protest is political, because it is political. It is not shameful for it to be political. For this reason, I received insults with a book and against these insulters, not the protesters, I did not insult the protesters, I responded personally, Albanian-style, manly eye to eye to the insulters who have ruined this work that everyone who has an opinion and says it publicly responds with insults, I and my family do not deserve this.

"If the protesters have any problems with Edi Rama's house servants, let them continue with Ed Rama, but I don't owe them anything, I'm not the prime minister, I'm not in politics," said Manjani.

Further, during an interview, Manjani emphasized that after the reaction, Veliaj's structure, the organizers he himself created, have taken his statements out of context and used them to incite hatred among the crowd.

"After this reaction, the well-known organizers, they are well-known in Tirana, were created by Erion Veliaj, it is Erion Veliaj's structure, I don't know if Veliaj is behind this, I have no proof to say this, but it is that structure that takes my public statements out of context to incite hatred in the crowd. I consider this a crime and once again, if these emotions of the protesters are served by my house servants to solve their problems, let them continue, that's fine with me, but it is not fair, it is not right, it is not regular", said Manjani./ CNA
