The Special Prosecution Office has announced the indictment of the former mayor of Tropoja, Zyra Islamaj, accused of corruption, and of the builder Rrok Gega.

SPAK has requested 4 years of probation for Zyra Ismailaj, who is accused of committing the criminal offense of "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions", while the builder is accused of active corruption.

Meanwhile, he has requested 2 years of probation for builder Rrok Gega, accused of committing the criminal offense of "Active corruption of persons exercising public functions".

Ismailaj was taken into custody by SPAK in September last year for the tender for the reconstruction and construction of several bridges in the municipality of Tropoja, one of which, with the intervention of businessman Rrok Gega, would have been personalized over the stream that passes right next to her sister's house. /CNA
