Cardiac surgeon Edvin Prifti has returned to duty. After the suspension of 1 year and 3 months from office, today the Special Court of Appeal has made the decision for the return to office of doctor Prifti.

We remind you that the SPAK Special Prosecutor's Office accused the doctor Edvin Prifti of the criminal offenses of "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions" and "Cleaning of the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity".

Emri i Priftit doli në përgjimet e SPAK teksa po hetonte një rast korrupsioni në Gjykatën e Krujës, ku në pranga përfundoi ish-gjyqtarja Enkelejda Hoxha e prej asaj kohe, kardiologu po vijon një përballje të ashpër me drejtësinë.

Më pas ai u akuzua se ka shitur për 1.1 milionë lekë një valvulë biologjike një pacienteje duke pretenduar se e kishte blerë në privat.  Edvin Prifiti i kishte bërë transplant një gruaje e cila më pas kishte ndërruar jetë. Dy djemtë e saj i kërkonin mjekut lekët sepse nëna e tyre nuk kishte mbijetuar.

Mjeku i njohur bëri kallëzim për dy djemtë e pacientes së tij, se ata po e “shtrëngonin për dhënie pasurie”. Dosja përfundoi përsëri në duart e prokurorëve të SPAK dhe këtë herë me kërkesë të tyre, GJKKO e pezulloi Edvin Priftin nga detyra për herë të dytë.

SPAK sent the decision to the Supreme Court demanding that the doctor be put back behind bars. On September 7, 2021, the Supreme Court did not accept SPAK's request for the return to prison of Edvin Prifti, but did not return him to office either.

Two weeks later, the doctor again requested to wear the white apron, but the Special Court of Appeal again overruled him.
