During today's day, the students and teachers of the Turkish college "Mehmet Akif" came out in protest, after the decision of the Ministry of Education to close this institution.

In a statement to the media, the "Gulistan" Foundation, which owns the "Mehmet Akif" college, states that the school has been licensed since 1998, while the buildings have been changed to provide students with better conditions.

‘Njoftuam Ministrinë e Arsimit si edhe morëm leje për të kryer punime nga institucionet e qeverisjes vendore. Gjatë kësaj periudhe, deri në fund të muajit gusht kemi pasur inspektime dhe korrespondencë të rregullt me autoritetet përgjegjëse dhe nuk kemi hasur asnjë problem dhe nuk jemi informuar për diçka që nuk shkon në drejtim të vijimit të punës normalisht’, thuhet në reagim.

Më herët ministrja Kushi deklaroi se mbyllja e kësaj shkolle ndryshe nga spekulimet nuk është bërë si pasojë e kërkesës së presidentit turk Rexhep Taip Erdogan, por sepse ky institucion ka shkelur disa pika të legjeslacionit aktual të arsimit shqiptar.

Sakaq në protestë nxënësit janë shfaqur të prekur dhe kanë kërkuar rihapjen e shkollës së tyre, duke u shprehur gjithashtu se ky "aksion qeveritar" është një cënim për arsimin.

As it seems from the pictures, the students are in tears, as it seems as if their dreams have been cut in half. It is difficult in fact, because the children may have dreamed, perhaps they have claimed that a better future awaits them if they are educated in a school with good conditions, which may even offer them a scholarship.
