Rama's attacks on justice/ DPSHL: SPAK to take legal measures

The organization "Diaspora for a Free Albania" has condemned the prime minister's attacks on the justice system.

In the statement issued, DPSHL calls on the President of the Republic to protect the Constitution.

They also asked SPAK to take measures against interference in justice.

 

 

" PRIME MINISTER, STOP ANY UNCONSTITUTIONAL INTERFERENCE WITH JUSTICE IMMEDIATELY!"

DPSHL condemns in the strongest terms the continuous and unacceptable interventions of the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, in the justice system, which violate the Constitution of the Republic of Albania, the principles of the rule of law, and undermine once and for all the European dream of Albania and the Albanians. The Prime Minister has made and continues to make unprecedented statements in the democratic history of the Albanian state, attempting to exert pressure on the justice bodies and to protect individuals involved in investigations or convicted.

DPSHL Urgent Requests:

• We call on the President of the Republic to defend the Constitution and publicly condemn the Prime Minister's interference in justice.

• We ask SPAK to review the Prime Minister's statements and actions and take legal measures for any illegal interference in justice.

• The High Judicial Council (HJC) and the High Prosecutorial Council (HPC) should issue a clear statement against political interference in the judiciary.
