Two applications for wind power plants have been submitted to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy recently.

The applying entities, although separate, seem to be part of a joint project, given that they are both in the area of ??Vaut Deja in Shkodër district.

Specifically, MIE announced on its website about the applications in question, giving the specifics for each. These plants, if they manage to get the approval and be implemented in the field, will not be subject to the concession and as such cannot benefit from the support measures that are applied to some projects with specific conditions.

"Based on Article 15 of the Decision of the Council of Ministers No. 822, dated 7.10.2015 "On the approval of the rules and procedures for the construction of new electricity production capacities, which are not the subject of a concession" as amended, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy announces as follows:

The company "OLV" sh.pk has expressed its interest and submitted to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, the application for the construction of a wind power plant with an installed capacity of 22.8 MW, for the production of electricity from renewable sources, which is not the subject of a concession and does not benefit from support measures, located in Vau i Dejës Municipality, Shkodër District" the document states.

The same submission is also made for the company "HTT" sh.pk which has expressed interest and submitted to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, the application for the construction of a wind power plant with an installed capacity of 17.1 MW, for the production of electricity located at in Vau i Deja Municipality, Shkodër District.

In recent years, there is a growing trend for investments in renewable energy sources, but especially in photovoltaics. As far as wind energy is concerned, even though there are a number of projects that are in different stages, there is none that has been implemented and put into production. The first wind projects to advance the fastest are likely to be those of the government auction held a year ago when 222.4 MW of capacity was awarded to three companies that showed interest.

The lowest price was 44.88 euros/MWH. The offer was given by the merger of Total EREN sa and KMV sh.pk. The second lowest offer came from GurisINSAAT, Morgan Energy and BRD Energy sh.pk for a capacity of 75 MW and a price of 74 euros/MWh while the third offer came from Verbung AG for a capacity of 72.6 MW and a price of 74.95 euros/MWh./ Monitor.al
