In the Court of Tirana, the hearing for the perpetrators of the barbaric violence against the lawyer Sokol Mêngjesi, who is in a serious condition in the Trauma hospital, started this morning. 

The prosecution has reclassified the criminal offense from "attempted murder of public officials" to "Deliberate serious injury carried out in cooperation" and "Opposition and beating of a judge carried out in cooperation".

Meanwhile, the prosecutor's office has requested the measure of "prison arrest" for both the two detainees and the three wanted perpetrators, Drivald Alia, Elton Kasaj and Romario Tabaku. 

The incident happened on the morning of May 29 in the area of ??the former Block, where the lawyer was hit by several people who have been identified by the police as Dorian Alia, Drivald Alia, Romario Tabaku and Elton Kasaj, while Dritan Nano was arrested as the person who commissioned the brutal act.

Dorian Alia, 32, turned himself in after the incident, giving evidence that confirmed police suspicions of Dritan Nano's involvement.

Nano, 58 years old, is accused of having organized the violence after refusing to liquidate the lawyer according to a signed contract, after Mngjesi won the trial for the property of a family with 8 heirs, where today the towers of the Lake Dam are built. Meanwhile, the other three perpetrators are still being sought.

The police are continuing the search for the perpetrators, where they have made available 20,000 euros for anyone who provides information about the perpetrators. /CNA
