New details emerge from a joint operation following an investigation coordinated by the Brescia District Prosecutor's Office and the Special Prosecution Office in Albania (SPAK), which resulted in the imposition of measures against 24 individuals involved in international drug trafficking in Italy, Albania, France and the United Kingdom.

The defendants are accused of forming a criminal conspiracy dedicated to international drug trafficking. At the same time, the preliminary seizure of assets worth approximately 3 million euros, believed to be the proceeds of illegal activities, was ordered, while in Italy alone 35 checks were carried out with the most advanced technology by SCICO (Central Service for the Investigation of Organized Crime).

Italian media reports that according to the investigation that took place in 2020-2025, the criminal group based in Albania and branching out into Italy imported cocaine from South America using trade routes to the main port of Northern Europe, before transporting the drugs to Italy in heavy loads. Over 1,300 kilograms of cocaine were then distributed to six operational bases across the country.

Within these warehouses, members managed both the distribution of drugs and the collection of proceeds from sales, which were allegedly transported to the organization's senior leaders through drivers operating on the Italy-Albania route.

10 members of the group were arrested red-handed and 550,000 euros in cash, 10 vehicles, a semi-automatic pistol and 130 kilograms of cocaine and heroin, estimated to be worth approximately 12 million euros on the market, were seized. /CNA
