The National Inspectorate of Territory Protection has reacted to the denunciation made yesterday evening in the investigative show "Fiks Fare" on the occasion of the collapse of a 3-story apartment in Tirana.

IKMT declares that the apartment was demolished because it was included in the facilities expropriated by government decision for the Great Ring project.

Contrary to what the owner of the apartment claims, IKMT says that he was notified of the demolition in the same way as the other residents were notified.

"Regarding the case broadcast on the show "Fiks Fare" on January 31, 2024, IKMT clarifies the public opinion that against the subject of Latif Saraçi, all procedures according to the law have been carried out. As a result of the implementation of the Great Ring Road project of Tirana, his property has been included in the expropriated facilities by government decision. Specifically VKM No. 748, dated 20.12.2023.

The notification for the demolition of the apartment was carried out in the same way and in the same form for all other subjects in that area. In no case does IKMT act selectively or in violation of legal provisions.

Understanding the sensitivity of each case, we emphasize that it is not our goal in itself to harm the citizens, nor to burden their positions. On the contrary, we have the obligation to guarantee treatment according to the law even when their property is expropriated as a result of a public work, such as the Great Ring of Tirana.
