President Bajram Begaj has stated that he does not agree at all with the statements made by British Home Secretary Suella Braverman about Albanian immigrants.

In a statement to the media, Begaj said that it is not right to be bullied for this, since most of the Albanian immigrants living in England work honestly and pay taxes in the state.

“Nuk jam dakord me deklaratat e bëra nga ministrja e brendshme, nuk mund të anatemohen dhe të etikitohen si pushtues për faktin qe shqiptarët jetojnë e punojnë kudo në botë. Janë integruar në shumë vende të botës dhe kanë ndërtuar jetën dhe punuar në mënyrë normale duke paguar taksa. Nuk është e drejtë te bullizohen në këtë lloj gjeje. Natyrisht ka edhe elementë anësorë, të padëshiruar që mund të kenë lidhje me krimin. Si këto nuk janë vetëm shqiptarë”, tha Begaj.

Begaj ndër te tjera tha se i ka kërkuar qeverisë britanike që investimet e saj t’i bëjë në zonat ku ka emigrantë.

 "I have asked the British government to make its investments in areas where there are immigrants due to the fact that the problem must be identified and after the identification, find the right ways to deal with this kind of thing. the right way, my request to them is that the investments of the English government in this region become tangible for the citizens. not to be only in the framework of the councils, but to be investments in order for these citizens who flee for a better life to work and live in Kukës, Dibër, Has and Tropoja. My other request has to do with the opening of an English micro-consulate in Kukës and make it possible for citizens to leave with regular temporary visas to work as seasonal workers", continued Begaj./ CNA.al
