Blocking of "Klan" and "A2CNN" groups/ AGSH: Foreign

The Association of Journalists of Albania has reacted to the blocking of the television groups "Klan" and "A2CNN" at the customs, with the claim that permission is needed from the Greek Foreign Ministry to shoot on Greek soil.

AGSH expresses concern about the blocking of television groups and strongly condemns the behavior of the Greek authorities.

AGSH calls on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to react urgently and ask for an explanation from the Greek authorities.

"The Association of Journalists of Albania is very concerned about everything that happened today on the border between Albania and Greece with the filming crews of TV Klan and A2CNN.

AGSH condemns in the strongest terms the behavior of the Greek authorities, while we urgently call for the situation to be clarified immediately and such events not to be repeated.

We call on the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs to react urgently to this unprecedented situation and to demand an explanation from the Greek authorities regarding this serious violation of freedom of movement and freedom of the media.

This behavior is unacceptable from a country of the European Union, which decides to block the media from Albania, which aim to provide information and transparency of an activity in Greece.

AGSH will pursue this situation with priority in official channels to finally clarify what happened in order to avoid such events in the future.

In the meantime, we call on the media organizations in Greece to take a clear stance on this situation," the statement said./ CNA
