Orthodox believers celebrate the Day of St. John Vladimir

On June 4, Saint John Vladimir's Day was celebrated in the monastery that bears his name in Shijon of Elbasan.

This celebration was attended by many clergy and believers who had come to honor the memory of St. John Vladimir.

The services were led by Metropolitans Andoni of Elbasan, Shpati and Librazhd, as well as Nathanail of Amantia.

Clergy from the country and Montenegro, North Macedonia also participated in the services that began at dinner and throughout the night as well as in the morning ending with the procession of the lipsan (bones) of the saint around the church.

This year, local and central authorities as well as well-wishers from the country and abroad congratulated the believers and clergy in a reception organized on this occasion.

The feast of St. John Vladimir brings together people from different countries and nations, in a beautiful spirit of brotherhood and friendship, which transcends country borders and ethnic and cultural barriers.
