Dam breach in Bunec/ Civil Protection Agency provides details

The rupture of the reservoir dam in Sasaj, Bunec, an incident that occurred this afternoon, appears to be moving towards normalization.

From the interventions made so far, Civil Protection has provided an update on the situation created in the Himara municipality.

It is learned that there is mud and water present in 12 businesses. While at the time of the collapse there was 15 thousand cubic meters of water. There is no information about problems with people.

So far, the Bunec-Piqeras national road axis has become passable.

"Around 12:26 today, the Sasaj water reservoir, in Bunec, Himara municipality, which was built in 2010, collapsed. At the time of the collapse, there was about 15,000 cubic meters of water. As a result, there is water and mud in 12 businesses in Bunec and the food base of the livestock of 2 families has been damaged. There are no human problems. The Bunec-Piqeras national road axis has currently become passable and the structures of the Himara municipality are working to clean the mud. The situation is being monitored by the Vlora prefecture and the civil emergency structures of the Himara municipality.
