The judges of the Constitutional Court will meet on Thursday, December 4, to discuss the government's request in the case of Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku. On Thursday, it will be decided whether or not to proceed with the government's request for review.

The Constitutional Court Panel reviewed this Tuesday the request submitted by Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Council of Ministers regarding the conflict of competences between the executive and the GJKKO, for the suspension from duty of the Deputy Prime Minister, also Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku.

In conclusion, the Panel, composed of rapporteur Sandër Beci and members Sonila Bejtja and Marsida Xhaferllari, decided to refer the matter to the eight-member Assembly of Judges of the Constitutional Court.

"According to the decision, the case is transferred to the Meeting of Judges to assess whether all the criteria for admissibility for consideration in a plenary session are met, in accordance with Article 31 of the Organic Law of the Constitutional Court and Article 24 of the Regulation on Judicial Procedures," the official announcement of the Constitutional Court states.

The government has appealed the decision of the Constitutional Court that ordered the suspension from office of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku./ CNA
