The US Embassy "lands" in Vlora/ Accountability and transparency and

Chargé d'Affaires David Wisner and embassy staff traveled to Vlora this Friday to visit the American Corner, where they met with young leaders involved in STEM and counter-disinformation programs, English language learning and environmental activism.

Wisner met with Mayor Ermal Dredha as well as the Regional Director of the Police Oversight Agency, Glodian Ahmetaj to reiterate the importance of accountability and transparency towards the goal of justice reform, as well as partnerships to improve local law enforcement efforts.

 He also had the opportunity to see the results of the "AI for Good" initiative, which uses artificial intelligence to address the needs of the local community, and joined the Vlora Nature Ambassadors Club at Soda Forest Beach to learn about the efforts of them in protecting the environment.

During his stay in Vlora, Mr. Wisner met with officials from the embassy-supported Vatra Psycho-Social Center, which provides important services to victims of trafficking and domestic violence./ CNA
