Accused of the death of the English tourist / Saranda Court passes Saimir

The Saranda Court deemed the Prosecution's investigations legal and complete and decided to pass the criminal file against Saimir Kushova, a professional diver, for trial.

He is accused of "violating occupational safety regulations" to the detriment of British tourist Rebecca Gannon, who tragically lost her life three years ago while on a diving expedition off the Albanian coast.

Interpol Oslo in Norway has confirmed that Kushova has been convicted by the Hordaland Court of First Instance as part of an organized criminal group who illegally imported and handled narcotics in large quantities.

According to data received from foreign authorities, it appears that Kushova was currently in Bergen prison, Norway.

He will be tried in absentia at the Saranda Court, while the parents of Rebeca Gannon, who have moved from the UK to Albania, will be present at the trial, hoping to find justice for the girl's life. /CNA
