Allegations that they entered the Assembly with weapons / The Republic Guard reacts

The Guard of the Republic reacted after the accusations of the opposition that their employees were allowed to enter the Assembly hall armed.

In its response, the Garda says that this is untrue.

" Regarding the claim of some opposition MPs, that Guard employees were in the hall with weapons in the parliamentary session, the Guard of the Republic clarifies that:

This claim is completely untrue.

None of the employees of the Guard of the Republic, as provided by the legal basis in force, were equipped with firearms inside the hall where the works take place.

The Guard of the Republic remains determined to exercise all the responsibilities and duties assigned, in order to guarantee the law", says the Guard's reaction./ CNA
