The former head of the Prosecution of Serious Crimes, Eugen Beçi, has spoken about the conviction of Fredi Beler.

According to Beci, from the formal side we have a closed file, but if the case goes to Strasbourg because of the way the majority treated it, Beler has won the trial.

Invited to the show Open, the former prosecutor said that if the file has interference from politics for the punishment, Strasbourg always decides in favor of the citizens.

 "It is a matter that required extraordinary care in terms of the procedures carried out. In addition to the charges for the character, there was a direct influence from the neighboring country. SPAK and the Prosecutor's Office could not leave any procedural gaps. If there are requests from the defense that have been rejected, the accused party has the right to suspect injustice.

The problem is whether we are dealing with provocation of the act of corruption or a naturalness of the act. If you read the evidence, you will understand that from a formal point of view, we have a closed file, but if we add external impacts to it, the process should not allow any procedural ambiguity.

The evidence, in my opinion, is conclusive from a formal point of view, but the prosecution should have had a doubt. We are dealing with a provoked situation and this would be clarified by asking the person who made an agreement with the police to provoke the situation. The process leaves room for doubt. The way the situation has been handled by the majority, they have won the file in Strasbourg.
