Today at 18:00, Prime Minister Edi Rama after his return from the US and the visit to the family of Klodjan Rasha, who was killed 2 days ago by the police patrol, held a public position regarding his Minister of Interior.

Edi Rama said that Sander Lleshaj has resigned, and the latter has accepted him because of the event that happened two days ago, but also the critical situation created after the protests started by several hundred young people.

CNA.al has previously reported on the clashes of Sander Lleshaj, which are starting to turn into open conflicts with the Prime Minister. There are at least 3 collisions between them. First, is the Prime Minister?s clash a few weeks ago with his Interior Minister, which took him out of the government meeting room. After a fierce debate, it is learned that the Prime Minister expelled Sander Lleshaj, who said that if he leaves would never return to that meeting.

Shortly before this incident, there was another clash. It is learned that the Prime Minister has fiercely debated with the Minister of Interior, regarding the purchase of a luxury BMW at the height of the pandemic, where Lleshaj declared that he had bought for only 49.000 euros, while the bill was very high, and the value declared by Lleshaj was only that of factory purchase.

It is reported that before this clash, Sander Lleshaj had another case where he resigned from the Prime Minister, but it was rejected. So, there are at least three strong clashes of Rama with his Minister of Interior, who once served as an army general, turned into a party captain, but was unable to move forward and occupy a strong position within the Socialist Party, although he was the most important government minister.
