Speak Luli, just speak!

Lulzim Basha?s political history will not be remembered as the biggest failure, success or
misunderstanding of the last 30 years! No! He will be remembered endlessly not because he
can lose on April 25, as well as he can win (as is unlikely to happen). But as a summary of
the fear of talking about his most important acts.

The latest case of non-response to allegations by Melaim Bellanica or KLA lawyer Tome
Gashi about a role he may have played in the KLA war crimes investigation, or concealment
of evidence of Serbs who have committed war crimes, is the latest link in the chain of his
serial silence, whenever he feels responsible.

That Basha as a lawyer had his right to work for prosecutor Williamson, it cannot be judged
by opinion. But if his work has contributed to the appearance before the Hague Tribunal
Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli and Jakup Krasniqi as accused of war crimes, he would be
deprived of the moral right to be the Prime Minister of Albania, that the issue of Kosovo has
the absolute priority of national interest.

And this has nothing to do with the involvement of Rama and Thaci in the recent discussions
on the exchange of territories between Kosovo and Serbia. Everyone bears their own
responsibility?s and someone else.

This ?career of silence? started much earlier than the issue of his work with the Hague
prosecutor, Williamson! The first date concerns the adjudication of the Nation Road case in
the High Court. Even then he didn?t speak, but simply didn?t have to speak because of the
burning of the trial deadlines by the prosecution.

Basha did not explain to the public why this strategic investment should be tendered
according to English law, while Albania had its own law, that of Public Procurement. And
when you have evaded the law for no reasonable legal reason, you have nothing to say.

The fact speaks for itself. But Basha?s silence was in fact a cover-up behind Berisha?s ambition to fulfill his political commitment in the shortest possible time. Building the most serious investment of the PD government most likely doesn?t entail a misuse of funds, but
Basha?s legal position was never understood by the public.

Then comes January 21st. The only person who has not yet spoken while he was the minister
in charge is the same man. The one who had to speak before Berisha, Olldashi, Imami and any other minister who had no obligation to speak, was exactly and strangely Lulzim Basha.
The State Police and the Republic Guard depended on the Ministry of Order, and not on the
Ministry of Transport or Defense, or to a lesser extent on the Prime Minister.

Those who talked about Rama?s ?cup? were ?declared enemie? by Rama, the media and in
the end by Basha himself, fighting them in the DP! He took care himself of Olldashi and the
Imami, meanwhile, he attacked Berisha through Genc Ruli. The one who was the master of
the work never spoke, but continued the career built on his successful silence!

What about the loss of DP in Mr. 2017 elections? He spoke only about others. About his
responsibility as the leader of the campaign in Tirana where the DP lost as in any other
region, he still has not said a single word! All the ministers were responsible for the loss
except the mayor of Tirana, who lost in the biggest district!

The fourth chapter of Basha?s silence is also that of May 17! After 3 and a half years from the
hall of the June 23 defeat, the Democrats and the public don?t know what he said to Edi
Rama, locked up together for 7 hours, eating pizza and Coca-Cola! And as always his silence
not only leaves unsolved the permanent enigmas of the consequences it produces, but shifts
the responsibility to the other party.

That time Rama was the culprit by lying to him, without telling us what for. As for the silence
about the villas and the contracts of his family members with the oligarchs, it is clear that
anyone doesn?t even ask him why should rent or buy the villas, or why his family should be
client of those he accuses daily from DP pulpit.

Because this sector is covered by someone else in the family. This one just keeps quiet, as
always. And as always his silence not only leaves unsolved the permanent enigmas of the
consequences it produces, but shifts the responsibility to the other party.In the case of the
investigation of Nation Road, the ?bill? remained to Berisha and the prosecution. On January
21 killings against to Berisha and some 2-3 guilty guards. On May 17 to Rama who lied him.
And now with the case in the Hague trial of former KLA leaders, to Taulant Balla and
Melaim Bellanica.

Whenever this man does not talk about his actions and inaction, others are to blame. Basha should be considered as a case study in criminal law as a man who does damage, but for which others always pay! The issue, after all, is not whether this man is responsible for every issue that confuses everything and raises suspicions about others, but for Albanians to know
if he is really so capable of breaking the law, committing criminal offenses, harming the
opposition, or worse yet half of the KLA. Because if he did these things to hide other people, it is useless to pretend he will become prime minister.

He has the obligation to tell us who will lead Albania if he wins the elections, so that we do
not put the cross on his name on the ballot but on Berisha, Clint Williamson, Erjon Isufi, etc.
The problem is that none of them will run for prime minister on April 25! Therefore, speak,
Luli, just speak, so that we know who we will vote for./ CNA.al
