Revolt in Lulzim Basha’s Office/ DP branch chairmans want the acceptance of their resignations

Nearly 30 DP branch chairman from Shkodra to Saranda, Gjirokastra, Vlora, Elbasani, Fieri, Korça, Dibra and many other cities, have resigned last days. After the issuance of the instruction signed by Lulzim Basha, with the announcement of the candidates’ competition, they allegedly had a condition with their selection on the basis.

Basha demanded that every candidate must be equal, and that DP branch chairmans would not be allowed to run if they did not resign. So 30 branch chairman have already resigned, but Lulzim Basha is facing a shock. In these circumstances he is force to reorganize the party in the local branches, and has therefore blocked the resignation of the chairmans, by rejecting them.

Ferdinad Xhaferri has resigned, but has not been accepted, also happened with Genc Deromemaj or Dasho Aliko in Gjirokastra. Meanwhile, Andrea Mano and Luan Baçi resignations have been accepted by Lulzim Basha, who has justified this decision with the fact that their branch cannot be reorganized.

In fact, Basha is setting two standards, one for those who will be on the list of branch chairmans, and another for those who will not be on the list. So, all persons who are branch chairmans, and who their resignation will not be accepted, will not be placed on the list as candidates for deputies.
But not only that, they are not even allowed to compete, so another violation of the principles of the Democratic Party. The

?New Republic? of Basha has other standards, it does not even allow you to compete, to establish a rule that ?resigns from the presidency and enters the race?, if you win then you will be a candidate, and as Luli Basha had announced, everyone will participate in the race and there would be an equal and fair race.
Now the rules are changing on the way. Firstly they were told to resign and run, now Basha do not accept the resignations, and branch chairmans are not allowed to run. This has led to a fierce clash between some branch chairman and the leader of the Democratic Party, who have revolted and clashed fiercely with him, demanding at all costs that they be part of the race because this would increase transparency and would show that it is a real race.

Some DP branch chairmans who attended the meeting with Basha, where there were strong debates and tensions were Ndriçim Babasi branch chairman of municipal unit no.5 in Tirana, Andrea Mano branch chairman in Korça, Luan Baçi in Fier, Hariz Mëma in Saranda, Ferdinand Xhaferraj in Durrës, Zef Gjoka in Lezha, Dash Aliko in Gjirokastra, Anton Koka in Malësi e Madhe and Genc Deromemaj branch chairman of Vlora.

But faced with the fact that has already the lists, and keeps them in his office, they can be overturned, so Basha has decided to not accept their resignations. As many of the local chairmans can compete in the local branches and emerge victorious, Basha will be forced to put them on the lists, so he has found another solution, violating the PD guideline and statute and excluding them from the race, by not accepting their resignations, which put them directly on the lists, as most of the branch chairmans would be without any discussion the most voted in their local branches.

The collision seems harsh and quite problematic.

It?s an unforeseen situation by the DP leader who had imposed a resignation restriction, which seems to be turning into a ?boomerang?. The alleged opening of the race in the base, has begun to cause major problems.
Persons are not allowed to run, resignations are refused, branch chairman are not allowed to run, so the party?s elite, elected by the democrats themselves, are not allowed to run, some belong to the mother, and some others to the stepmother. Someone resigns is accepted, someone else is not. Although there are voices, who say that even those whose resign have been accepted, and although they can win on the basis, Lulzim Basha may not run them, disqualifying them from running in the meeting of the presidency./CNA.al
