The most expensive transfer in the club's history is official, details of Wirtz to Liverpool

Florian Wirtz is officially a Liverpool player after a world-record €140 million move from Bayer Leverkusen. The 22-year-old German has successfully completed a two-day medical and signed a five-year contract with the English club.

Wirtz rejected offers from Manchester City and Bayern Munich to join the Reds. With the move, Liverpool broke the previous club record for a single transfer, held by Darwin Nunez.

The English club plan to spend over 200 million euros this summer, with Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong and Giorgi Mamardashvili as other reinforcements.

Liverpool are also looking for a centre-back and a striker, especially if Nunez leaves. Newcastle's Alexander Isak remains a top target, but the high asking price of around £150m makes a deal difficult.
