Official/ Marek Hamsik announces his retirement from football

Marek Hamsik has announced his retirement from football. The 35-year-old Slovakian midfielder made his official announcement at a press conference.

"Trabzonspor will be my last team and I will play my last home game on Saturday. I want to thank all the clubs I played for for giving me this opportunity. Thanks to everyone for this trip, I made my dream come true.

As soon as I was born, football was the first thing that came to my mind. This was my destiny. I started my career at the age of 4, I had big dreams and I think I have achieved my goals. I want to thank my family and friends who have been by my side for believing in me.

Thanks to the fans who have supported me. Now I will enjoy these last moments, the last matches. I may not cry, but I am very happy and proud" , Hamsik declared.

Marek Hamsik became known with the shirt of Napoli, where in 520 games played in total, he scored 121 goals and assisted 103 of them.
