Niko Kovac has renewed his contract with Borussia Dortmund until 2027. The Croatian had initially signed until 2026, but his work has been appreciated by the club's management.
Sporting director Lars Ricken said Kovac was fully committed to his role at the club. The coach, for his part, said that great progress had been made in the last six months and that he felt a high level of trust from the club and the fans.
His goal is to return Borussia to the top flight. Kovac took charge in February, when Dortmund were 11th in the Bundesliga, leading them to fourth place and a place in the Champions League.
With a full season ahead, expectations for him and the team are very high.
