The Bundesliga club is shocked, the 30-year-old turns out to be ill

Stefan Lainer has been part of M'Gladbach since the summer of 2019, when he was transferred from Salzburg to the Bundesliga team for 13 million euros.

The right winger, who is part of the Austrian national team (38 games and 2 goals), has been diagnosed with a bad disease in the lymph nodes.

The 30-year-old received the shocking news during medical tests. And he will have to stay out of the field for several months.

Lainer will begin intensive therapy. Fortunately, the doctors of the German club emphasized that the disease was detected very early. And the player is expected to successfully pass the difficult moment.

"We will do everything to ensure that Stefan receives the best possible treatment.

We wish him and his family a lot of strength and optimism in the fight against this disease," said Roland Virkus, M'Gladbach's sports director.
